My fiancé & I decided to take our engagement photos in Cancun after booking our summer vacation there. We were uneasy about booking a photographer in a foreign country who we knew nothing about. Many photographers we emailed did not respond, provided limitations as to how long they could take photos of us (think 1 hour tops), or were extremely expensive. My friend who had her destination wedding in Playa del Carmen strongly recommended Blue Lens Caribe & because her photos were breathtaking, we felt more comfortable booking Blue Lens to take our engagement photos. Dennis & Mirko of Blue Lens responded to our email inquiry immediately. They were extremely flexible with dates & stressed that they d id not want to ruin any plans we already made during our stay in Cancun. When I asked Dennis & Mirko about prices/packages, they provided both package & a la carte prices, which were both extremely affordable. They were actually cheaper than what we would have paid in the states! They also stressed that we would receive a "full photo shoot" free of charge regardless of how many pictures we later decided to order. As a matter of fact, we didn't commit to purchasing any photos until we saw them later that week. We also never signed a contract! The "full photo shoot" consisted of multiple locations at our resort, beach, garden, etc. Dennis & Mirko wanted to ensure we would have multiple backdrops & lighting to choose from. Dennis & Mirko met us at our hotel (note this required them to travel 2 hours that day) to take the photos. Although they came prepared with shots in mind, they were extremely flexible & listened to our ideas too. Both Mirko & Dennis were taking shots simultaneously in order to catch different angles, which later turned out to be pretty magnificent! My fiancé instantly liked Dennis & Mirko & quickly began enjoying the shoot even though he was initially ambivalent about it. After spending two hours taking a number of different photos, we planned to meet them in Playa del Carmen a few days later to see the finished product. Quick! After my fiancé & I had trouble locating transportation to Playa del Carmen, Dennis immediately agreed to me et us again at our hotel the following day. He drove an additional 2 hours out of his way to meet with us! He came with his computer monitor, key board, CDs/DVDs & a debit/credit card machine (super convenient) ready for us to view. He even printed out labels & DVD covers with our pictures & names on them to make it more personal! Dennis left my fiancé & I alone to enjoy the DVDs and CDs so we could discuss them without any pressure. Later when we discussed pricing, he left us alone again. It was really nice & we did not feel pressure to purchase at any time. Although we initially did not plan on purchasing more than a handful of digital files, the photos were so amazing that we found ourselves loving most of them & wanted to purchase more. It was just too difficult to choose & it was actually more economical to purchase a group of photos versus individual shots. We even purchased a DVD slide show to play at our wedding! Overall, Dennis & Mirko were extremely easy to work with, we felt a connection & has a wonderful rapport with them. Additionally, their finished photos were incredible & we would recommend them to anyone wishing to have photos taken in Cancun or even in the states (we asked if they were willing to travel to the US to possibly take our wedding photos next spring). Since we arrived back from our trip, our family has been complimenting us on the DVD slide show & our friends can't say enough about the photos we p osted on Facebook.
